Misschien omdat de winter is sneaking up behind us,
'cause baby, it ain't over till it's over... ;)
Wel weet ik dat ik overstap naar Nederlands. Misschien doe ik 'het' later wel weer in het Engels, maar nu, lekker vertrouwd...als een kopje Douwe Egberts op een regenachtige zondagmiddag...
I couldn't log in for a while anymore and then I started to think what I really wanted with my blog.
It isn't turning out the way I planned because of the practical problem; Who is going to take the pics?
My (sort of) BF is a photografer, but because we both have busy lives, taking photo's is a bit difficult to squeeze in...So I'm gonna think how to solve this problem and get back to you soon...In the mean time...any suggestions?
I wouldn't be the Freezing Blonde that I am, if I didn't spent these days on the ice! :D We Dutch people have some sort of event when it has been freezing like the last days. We iceskate trough eleven cities during a tour of 200 kilometers! (it is a genetic thing, I guess, inherited of the Vikingperiod or something.. ;) )
But everyone in Holland is totally crazy about it, want to see it and even try to take part of it! We now just heard it is not going to happen because the ice isn't thick enough and it would be to dangerous.. :(
For the Dutchies; Verdorie het giet NET oan! Ik schaam me soms echt dood... MOEST ik even kwijt..hihi
Ps.Ps. Won't be shooting outfit pics for a while, my hairdresser (or actually, the one that is replacing her for some time) totally screwed up my hair! I have a fringe like Cleopatra and it is grey...ish...with a little red..and blonde...and really..It is really terrible...I'm trying to save it a bit with some blonde shampoo and some hairmasks..but I am soooo glad it is cold, now I have an excuse to wear a hat...altough I now look like Agneta from Abba... (stop laughing...really...)
Old skool iceskates! :)
Wearing; two thermoleggings(!), woolen socks, ski socks, very old H&M sqin (a big one, haha, or else I couldn't move) and the oldest skates on the ice... ;)
I just love...this brand! I love the scent of it and the design of the products. Your whole bathroom smells like a fruitshake after you used some of their products.Usually I don’tlike sweet fruity things but it is a nice alternative for my preferences of ‘soft’scents. And a big plus (for me); 'All our suppliers do not test any finished product on animals and strive to use ingredients which have never been tested on animals.' Although I'm not a vegetarian (yet), I am an 'animal-person', and these small thing matter to me.. Find them here
I am a big fan of Pukka tea! Not only the design of thepackaging (they look so beautiful in your kitchen) but also the side-effects ofthese tea's are worth the try! I’ve been spamming my family and friends withthese teas for some time now. It is just THE solution for eeeevery mood! (at least, that is what Ithink, haha!). In the morning it is time to ‘Refresh’ with peppermintleaf, licorice root and fennel seeds. Have a ‘Detox tea’ (personal favourite),to cleanse your body, a ‘Love tea’ to warm your heart or a ‘Relax tea’ to calmand soothe... Had a busy day and can’t get any sleep? Try ‘Night time tea’, forpeaceful sleep, and you will sleep like a...ehm..a baby :) (also a personal favourite). They’re not very cheap, but I really think it is worth the money! For the Dutchies, ze zijn te vinden bij deTuinen voor €4,- per pakje, zitten 20 zakjes in, maar écht fijnfijnfijn! J
My little
sis, who is staying at Curacao for several months now (I’m so jealous, while I
am freezing here she is laying out on the beach getting a tan…), bought me these
beauties. My dad, who was visiting her brought these back with him as a surprise. They are not quite my style but it is always refreshing to try something
else, right? I wore them yesterday with some jeans and a black knitted cardigan
and a brown O-neck shirt, very simple but very relaxed outfit. I could really get
used to them! :)
2. View from my desk at my dad's house :) (the grey/white one)
3. Little monster
4. Some Iphone shopping
5. Romwe order
Alright, my busy times trying to keep up with school aren’t
over yet, but I’m getting
there. Only one week to go… As you have read my days only involved books and
reading…These pics where taken over the last week.
1.Wearing;
Mango blazer (old collection), MET jeans, Zara top
2. View from my desk, the skyline of Leeuwarden, actually
looking at my dad’s house when I work (not always motivating ;) ) But a very
nice view when you are working all day and all of the sudden you look outside
and see a beautiful rainbow lighting up the sky
3. Because of the lack of time (and just lazyness ;) I
treated myself on a Mac menu..with a McFlurry Stroopwafen (LOOOOVE them!!!!) My
sneaky little monster tried to taste it herself when she tought I wasn’t paying
attention... ;)
4. I got my new
IHoney (nickname for my Iphone, my previous BlackBerry was called
BlackBirdy...I just love to name phones, laptops, so I can talk to it: ‘Please
Bob (laptop), that is not what I said you have to doooo!!!’) this week! Of course I had to do some shopping to make it
as comfortable as possible for her, so after a long search I decided to but a transparent
case for now. I also bumped into these items at the HEMA. A case and a
screenprotector...which both didn’t work for me. The case was waaaay to tight,
couldn’t get my phone in OR out..a real struggle... The screenprotector was a disaster!
You have to stick it on your screen and make sure there are no bubbles...but I
know thats is just me, every time I saw a little bubble, a little dust part,
took it off, tried again, and again and again.. And then I gave up! Hahah! I will
try it another time ;)
5. Ordered this jumper at Romwe, I purchased a beige one a
while ago and just love the way it fits. (Reminds me I have to upload a pic of
it..soon!)
Too bad for
me... it won’t be like one of the lines of my favorite songs. My days involve lots and lots of coffee, reading and
repeating, reading..My nights are sleepless because I’m still trying to
remember what I have to learn..It’s crazy! So I wish it was like the pic above…too bad
for me this is where I have to spend my time with..
No
outfitpics, no orders, no nothing…Really have to study..But I got my Iphone 4s
(her nickname; Ihoney, hihi), received my Romwe order ( See previous post ), my Zara bag, and ordered something
else..Soon a update, now back to my books…Blegh!
Just
ordered these for my MOM! Really! Haha! She is actually very fashionable. Before
the overknee-boots were a trend she was already wearing them. I ordered them in
2 sizes, hopefully one of them don’t fit her, but fit me, hihi!
I also
ordered this bag! I’m always searching for the perfect black bag; you can’t
have enough of them, right?
Some Sunday pics in FRONT of my closet. After my exams I
plan to rearrange my entire home. Will be trying to create some more closet
space (verrry necessary). I have way too many shoes, jeans and other stuff...
Maybe I can arrange a ‘shop-my-closet’... just realising...
Anyway, try to change my bedroom by letting the closet face
the other way, create some room between the wall and the doors and try to fit
in an IKEA bookcase to store my shoes. Already have them stored in shoeboxes in
a bookcase, but I just have to many (maybe I should try to wear them more so I
can throw them away eventually... ;) ) But AFTER the exams...should focus on
that first.. I always think of projects like this when I really should be
learning the course material... After the previous time I had exams I painted
my whole house and the one before I bought a coffee table witch I sanded and
painted glossy white.. Don’t know why, think it is some sort of denial... hihi!
So wearing all grey, love it instead of my beloved
all-black. Bit lighter, right? ;)
And finally wearing my DIY Ankleboots ! Yay! What do you think of them?
I finished
my education for Interiordesigner quite a while ago, but when I was asked to
write an article for Eigen Huis & Interieur (a Dutch interior magazine), I
just couldn’t refuse. What a great possibility! I always loved to read this magazine
and daydream that someday I would live in a home looking like that! So I
collected the info I received from the editor and started reading about the
brands the men represented I had to interview.
I interviewed the director of Vibiemme Domobar Netherlands
A Dutch manufacturer that makes professional coffee-machines designed for home
use.
When I heard I had to interview the SMEG director I got the
biggest smile on my face. Don’t know if you know them but they make the most
awesome kitchen supplies! Maybe you know those fifties fridges? That’s SMEG! Watch it here Smeg 50 style.
I also interviewed the director of Subzero-Wolf
, a company that sells wine climate cupboards. These cupboards can be used as a
storage for wine to get then on the right temperature.
I also interviewed the
director of Viking Range. Viking designs kitchens like you see in a restaurant, but
one that you can use at home. Very professional, but useful. Viking started
with a design from the first founder of the company. The American married
couple Karl inherited a stove, When it didn’t work anymore they tried to find a
second one as good as the previous one. When they couldn’t find one mister Karl
started drawing and designing one for their own use. Eventually it grew out to a
company worldwide.
As an introduction of the new lay-out of the magazine
EH&I made this little movie, really fun to see!
Because I never uploaded the whole article (you can read
earlier posts about it) I tried to scan it. They are in Dutch, hopefully you
get the picture ;)
The day it was published I was very nervous. That morning a
ran to the local bookshop. I almost JUMPED inside...too bad for me, it wasn’t delivered
yet. Somewhat disappointed I walked back home for a cup of coffee. And then I
heard a small ‘thump’ on my doormat. And there it was! A lovely pink enveloppe. AND I’m in it!!!
Actually, I never read it. Not like you would think I should do. Once, a
few weeks after the publishing date (it was published in October), my mom sat
me down with a cup of coffee. She handed me the magazine and disappeared into
the kitchen. I scanned the words quickly, and have to say I was a bit relieved.
TThey weren’t changed much these, where my words! :)
For the scanned Dutch version, hope you can read it;
Last night
I was cuddling up with a cup of goodnight-tea, a quilt and my cat to watch my ‘bible’,
SATC. I just love the quotes, New York, the lifestyle that is portrayed and of
course the humour! I actually catch myself laughing up aloud when one of them
had a great one-liner. And I have to admit, I even tear up sometimes. And the episodes where Mr. Big appears? Verrrry
recognizable ;)
Anyway, I
watched the episode when Berger breaks up with Carrie over a post-it. At the
end of the scene I had an epiphany. I NEEEED nude shoes!!!!
So, no time
to hesitate, ordered these right away!
Actually, I love these too! But they’re out of stock every time I try to order...
Problem is,
I’m very tall, 178 cm…Cute if you are a model, not so cute if you just want to survive daily life. So, when wearing shoes like these I literally rise above
everyone… Very annoying when you have a ‘thing’ for high heels.
But it
is like Carrie said;
“It's really hard to walk
in a single woman's shoes -- that's why you sometimes need really special
shoes!”
Right? ;)
Have a lovely day, x
Feel free to leave a comment, really would like to know what you think of this blog :)
With this terrible weather the last few days there isn’t much a girl can do other than do a little online shopping right?
.I recently discovered Romwe.com, an online shop started as a
vintagestore on Christmas eve in 2010. I’m not sure what to think of it, are
they all KO? I’ve been reading a lot about it by other bloggers, some of them
even sponsored by Romwe... Nothing wrong with that! So I’ve applied, thing is that you have to have at least 2000 followers, so maybe a future plan ;)
This what I ordered;
Ofcourse a new leather jacket, can’t have enough of them!
After my Marktplaats disaster where I was scammed (see previous post) I had to have a new one that
feels right. Good excuse. Then I stumbled over this coffee shirt, the name was
actually the reason to take a second look...Love it! The colour of it is a
different then all of the other beige/brownish tees i have seen. Think it will
look exceptional with some over-knees and black leather jeans! Hope to receive it soon!
Hiding my frizzy wet hair, looking like a hiphopper, hihi!
Suiting up for a day at the spa with my girlfriends. Finally
some ‘warmth’!
I never was a big fan of walking in a robe, with no makeup, but
after trying it once I was hooked. We always try to pick a spa that is near, so
we don’t have to drive so far, but pick one that is not filled with people we know.
I once spotted my supervisor from a company I worked for, in a robe (thank god!!)
but it was really awkward! We kept trying to pretend we didn’t see him, ducking behind plants and staring in the other direction if he walked by, you can picture it... And
the next day at work...Not so fun.. hihi
For this day was a comfortable outfit necessary. So; harempants, boots, easy tee, sunnies (to hide my makeup free face) and a really
comfy coat, good to go!
I finally had an excuse to use my very beloved, but not
often used, vintage doctor bag. It is way too big to use every day, so this was
the perfect occasion! I keep wondering who used it. Maybe it was a young girl,
living in the ‘30ies..Or maybe it was really used as a doctors bag...Who knows?
Some Spa essentials;
Garnier Repair Bodylotion the Canadian formula (love the scent AND anti-dehydration), facial towels from Etos (remind me of the scent of Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb) flipflops, Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur Deep repair hair mask (saves my hair everytime), vasline, sunnies, Nivea Pure handlotion, bottle of water, towels and NO watch!! Jeeej!
Wearing ; Harempants Vila, boots, tee HM, Bench coat
